Borrow and renew

Login to my NVCL

Access my account for checkouts, holds and fines and to view "My lists".

Library card

All library materials may be borrowed with a library card, except reference materials and home services audiobooks. Registration for a library card is free for City of North Vancouver, BC OneCard users and InterLink communities. Get a library card.

Borrow

Loan periods are 4 weeks for most regular materials, and 2 weeks for high-demand items such as DVDs and video games. Read about borrowing limits.

Return and renew

Return materials through the automated book drop. Renew materials by logging into our catalogue using your library code and PIN (last 4 digits of your phone number).

Loan periods and holds

NVCL does not charge fines on overdue materials. However, please note that we charge the replacement cost for lost items and long-overdue (6 weeks) items assumed to be lost.

There is no fee to place holds on titles in our catalogue. There is a $1 fee for holds that are not picked up and checked out.

Join us to celebrate the participants in the Teen Summer Writing Contest: Echoes from the past. Prizes will be awarded and contest participants will have the opportunity to read from their stories. Winning stories announced at the awards ceremony will be added to the collections at City Library and North Vancouver District Public Library.

This contest and awards ceremony has been organized by the City Library and NVDPL Teen Advisory groups.

Please register to attend as seating is limited.
