Join us in the Civic Plaza to celebrate the start of summer, and to sign up for this year's summer reading club. Stop by our booths to get your SRC reading record, spin the wheel to win a prize, dance to some awesome music and catch that summertime feeling!
About the BC Summer reading club
Summer reading club happens every summer at every public library in BC. It's for kids in kindergarten through grade 6 and is free to join! BC SRC strives to promote literacy by encouraging kids to read over the summer, keeping their skills fresh for the fall. This year's theme is "Colour your summer" with artwork by Lauren Achtem. If you're unable to join us at the kickoff party, come by the children's department to grab your log, or register and track your reading online, beginning late June.
Read-to-me club
City Library also has a Read-to-me club during the summer for kids ages 5 and younger. You can collect your Read-to-me log at the children's department or during the kickoff party.
