The 2025 North Shore Writers Festival kicks off with a Traditional Welcome to the Territory with Tsitsáyx̱emaat.
Tsitsáyx̱emaat Rebecca Duncan is of Squamish and Musqueam descent. She has devoted her life to preserving the Squamish language and passing down the cultural teachings that have been handed down to her from her late Papa and his Papa and so on and so on since the beginning of time. Tsitsáyx̱emaat is a knowledge keeper, storyteller, weaver, traditional cook, language teacher, singer, and dancer.
The North Shore Writers Festival is presented in partnership by North Vancouver City Library, North Vancouver District Public Library, and West Vancouver Memorial Library. This is one of the nine free events happening April 24 – 26 at the Lynn Valley Library. View the full schedule.
