Challenge your literary knowledge and vie for prizes and acclaim at the North Shore Writers Festival’s literary trivia night, hosted by author and comedian Charles Demers.

Each member of the winning team will be awarded a prize and the title of 2025 North Shore Writers Festival Literary Trivia Champions. Random draw prizes are also up for grabs from participants.

Charles Demers is a comedian, author, and voice actor from Vancouver. A top Canadian stand-up comedian, he’s a regular on CBC’s The Debaters and stars in the Emmy-winning Netflix series Beat Bugs and The Last Kids on Earth. His stand-up album Fatherland was nominated for a Juno Award, and his second album, I Hope I Don’t Remember This My Whole Life, was released in 2022. Demers has authored several books, including the novel The Prescription Errors, the bestselling essay collections Vancouver Special and The Horrors, and the comedic crime novel Property Values, which is being adapted into a film. His latest book, Noonday Dark, the sequel to Primary Obsessions, received a starred review from Publishers Weekly. Demers has also taught at UBC and written stage plays for young audiences.
