City Library closed Dec. 10 for planned power outage

The City Library building will close all day Tuesday, Dec. 10, due to a planned BC Hydro power outage.
A selection of library services and programs will be offered at North Vancouver City Hall, adjacent to the library building at 141 West 14th St. Holds pickup will be available at the library entrance until 4 p.m. only. Regular operations are expected to resume at our usual location Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 9 a.m.
During the power outage and building closure, the following services will NOT be accessible:
- Room bookings, including recording studio and digitization stations
- Exam invigilation
- Printing, scanning and photocopying
- Automatic book return
- Please keep your materials until Wednesday, Dec. 11, or use the outside return box
The other North Shore libraries will be open for reading, studying, public printing and more:
- North Vancouver District Public Library (most branches) — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- West Vancouver Memorial Library — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Pop-up library at City Hall
The library will be offering limited services and study space at City Hall, 141 W. 14th St., on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. All are welcome to attend this “pop-up library” and use a selection of library services, including:
- Daily newspapers
- A selection of books to borrow or read
- Free, public Wi-Fi (90-minute limit)
- Limited individual study and reading space
- Library card registrations and assistance with library accounts
- Information, research and technology help
Programs
The following library programming will take place in the Atrium Conference Room, in City Hall:
- Seniors' Gathering: DIY gift tags — 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Canadian resume writing — 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
- Family storytime — 3:30 to 4 p.m.
- Drop-in tech help — 7 to 9 p.m.
